How many days do we do takbir after Eid al-Adha in the Maliki school?

The ruling: The takbiraat after the obligatory prayers during the days of Eid al-Adha are recommended (mandub).

The amount: The takbirs would be done after 15 obligatory prayers beginning with Dhuhr after the Eid prayer (10th of Dhul Hijra) and ending with the Subh (Fajr) of the 13th of Dhul Hijra. Thus, it is the day of Eid + two full days + Fajr prayer of the fourth day.

How it is said: Simply saying Allahu akbar three times after each salat. The Mudawwana relays a Prophetic hadith about this.

A second method: Saying Allahu akbar (twice), la illaha illa Allah (once), Allahu akbar (twice), wa lillah al-hamd (once). This is mentioned in the Mukhtasar of Ibn ‘Abd al-Hakam.

The stronger opinion: While both narrations are strong and can be followed, the narration in the Mudawwana is stronger.

What is disliked: It is disliked (makruh) to add anything other than what has been narrated in the above two formulas.
